During calibration, the latest data must be read from the device screen in real time. The displayed data updates according to the acquisition interval. By default, this interval is usually 10–15 minutes (some models may have a longer default interval). Therefore, the displayed values may not reflect the current actual temperature.
Recommendation:
Before calibration, activate the device and set the acquisition interval to 1 minute via the platform/App. Then press the power button to synchronize the setting.
Data synchronization may cause slight temperature rise. If the network signal is weak, repeated reconnection attempts can lead to noticeable heating, which interferes with calibration results.
Recommendation:
Before calibration, disable the data synchronization function or set the synchronization interval to the maximum value. Then press the power button to synchronize the setting to minimize heat interference.
Some devices can display multiple parameters, such as internal temperature/humidity, light intensity, or external temperature/humidity sensors. During calibration, ensure that the relevant data can be viewed at any time.
Recommendation:
Before calibration, press the menu button to switch the display to the page of the parameter being calibrated.
For example, when calibrating an external temperature and humidity sensor with WS1 Pro or GS1 series devices, connect the external sensor and switch the display to the E-T/H page.
Some devices support both external power supply and battery power. When using external power, the device will remain active for the first 15 minutes without entering sleep mode, which may cause slight temperature rise and affect calibration accuracy.
Recommendation:
Use battery power first, or wait at least 30 minutes after connecting external power before calibration.
Ensure proper air circulation around the device or external sensor during calibration. Do not block ventilation openings.
Recommendation:
Place the device in the center of the testing equipment (e.g., temperature/humidity chamber), avoiding edges or obstructed areas.
External sensors should not touch the device housing or chamber walls, and cables should not be attached to hot or cold surfaces.
After the calibration environment reaches the set value, the device needs time to reach thermal equilibrium with the surrounding environment.
Recommendation:
Due to device structure and heat exchange characteristics, most devices (e.g., WS1 Pro, GS1) should be left to stabilize for at least 30 minutes before calibration.
Explosion-proof devices may require a longer stabilization time.
Use a calibrated or traceable standard temperature and humidity instrument as the reference.
Recommendation:
Place the device and the reference instrument at the same location to avoid measurement errors caused by environmental differences.
Holding the device or placing it near heat sources (e.g., computers, lamps) can increase sensor temperature and affect measurement stability.
Recommendation:
Avoid holding the device, breathing near the sensor, or placing it close to heat sources during calibration.
